Ideally located to serve its customers

Pétromont enjoys a wide range of supply and distribution options. Strategically located close to the Port of Montréal on the St. Lawrence Seaway, Pétromont ships its products to all parts of the world. An extensive railroad and trucking network allows easy access to its largest markets, Canada and the U.S. Northeast and Midwest.

Pétromont pipelines

Pétromont also owns a pipeline network that links its Varennes and Montréal East plants, and connects it to its neighbouring customers. Pipelines carry gases and liquids that are used to manufacture numerous consumer goods such as paints, plastics, clothing, detergents, carpets, adhesives, etc. Despite all those activities, pipelines still hold the best safety record in the whole transportation industry.

Our pipelines are buried for safety reasons. As most of them are below ground, we use markers to indicate their approximate location. Those colourful panels are installed at public road, railway and river crossings, as well as at other various locations along the pipeline route.

Since markers do not indicate the exact location or depth of pipelines, be sure to always call INFO-EXCAVATION before starting to dig anywhere near a pipeline system.
