Olefins

Pétromont’s olefin products are produced by "steam cracking" a wide range of feedstocks derived from crude or natural gas production. Those feedstocks come in two states (at atmospheric conditions): gaseous (propane, butanes and refinery gas concentrates) or liquid (naphtha and distillates). Steam cracking is a process by which our feedstocks are subjected to high temperatures in the presence of steam, which transforms them into basic chemicals. Besides offering a broad range of products from hydrogen to heavy fuel oil, Pétromont is the sole producer of MAPD (Methyl Acetylene Propadiene) in North America.
